The aspiration of the charter school, in partnership with the community, is to provide an exceptional education that prepares students to be successful members of our democratic society. Therefore, the graduation requirements stated below have been established. The graduation requirements encompass the knowledge, abilities, and experience necessary to develop the essential aptitudes and skills of successful participants in today’s society: behavior of character, communication, citizenship, intellect, self-direction, teamwork, well-being, and productivity. Each student must complete a minimum of 220 semester units in the following areas:

- English 40 units
- Mathematics 30 units*
- Social Studies 30 units
- Science 20 units
- Foreign Language or Visual/Performing Arts 10 units
- Health 5 units
- Physical Education 20 units
- Senior Seminar 5 units
- Career Education 5 units
- Technology 5 units
- Electives (units will vary to equal minimum of 220)
*Algebra 1 Requirement: (Education Code 51224.5)(b) Commencing with the 2003-04 school year and each year thereafter, at least one course, or a combination of two courses, in mathematics required to be completed pursuant to subparagraph (B) of paragraph (1) of subdivision (a) of Section 51225.3 by pupils while in grades 9 to 12, inclusive, prior to receiving a diploma of graduation from high school, shall meet or exceed the rigor of the content standards for Algebra I, as adopted by the State Board of Education pursuant to Section 60605.
